TNPSC Group 1 Exam Pattern 2023
The TNPSC Group 1 exam is highly competitive; only top candidates will be accepted into its stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination The Preliminary Examination serves as a qualifying exam; only candidates who pass are eligible to move on to the Main Examination.

Step 1 : Visit the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission’s (TNPSC) official website at https://tnpsc.gov.in/ to obtain TNPSC Group I exam notification link,
Step 2 : Read through carefully, ensuring eligibility requirements have been fulfilled, then press “Apply Online”.
Step 3 Once on the TNPSC online application portal, create an account and login before filling out and submitting an application form carefully

TNPSC Group 1 Eligibility Criteria 2023
Candidates taking the TNPSC Group 1 examination must be Indian nationals aged between 18-32. Reserved category candidates can get an age waiver of five years when taking this examination. The candidates must pass 10+2 examinations from recognised boards and universities respectively. Alongside, they must have proper knowledge about the Tamil language.
TNPSC Group 1 Notification Syllabus 2023
The Preliminary Examination is a qualifying exam for the Main Examination. It consists of two objective-type papers, each of 200 marks, for a total of 400 marks. The papers are:
- Paper 1: General Studies (Degree Standard)
- Paper 2: Aptitude and Mental Ability
The Main Examination is a more comprehensive exam that tests the candidate’s knowledge and skills in a variety of subjects. It consists of seven papers, each of 300 marks, for a total of 2100 marks. The papers are:
- Paper 1: General Studies I (History of India and Indian Culture)
- Paper 2: General Studies II (Social Issues in India and Tamil Nadu)
- Paper 3: General Studies III (General Aptitude and Mental Ability)
