Kisan Credit Card

Farmers in India are given short-term loans through the Kisan Credit Card scheme to help them reduce the financial burden of agricultural production and maintenance. A credit limit will be determined based on cultivated crops, maintenance expenses, and financial margins. The limit offered to marginal farmers is between INR 10,000 and INR 50,000. Specialized credit facilities are beneficial to farmers, especially when they use them as a backup for their farming operations.

It is also called the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Credit Card Yojana. Credit cards are offered by commercial banks, state cooperatives, and regional rural financial institutions. Here’s what you need to know about Kisan Credit Cards, their eligibility, the documents required, and application procedures.

  • For loans up to Rs. 1.60 lakhs, banks will not ask for a security
  • Farmers are covered against a range of calamities by crop insurance
  • Besides permanent disability insurance, the farmer is also covered for death and other risks
  • Repayment periods are determined by harvesting and marketing the crop
  • A cardholder is allowed to take out up to Rs. 3.00 lakh in loans.
  • The Kisan Credit Card offers high-interest rates to farmers who deposit their money into the account.
